Edgar for ChatGPT is operated by Folksoft Oy, Business ID 3123171-7, Malagankatu 6 B, 00220 Helsinki, Finland. This policy covers chatgpt.edgarwrites.ai and its ChatGPT integration. This service has its own accounts and database, separate from the original Edgar app.

Information we process

We store your name, email address, authentication sessions, OAuth grants, subscription status, and connected social account identifiers and profile details. Sign-in uses an email code, not a password. Payment details are handled by Stripe; we do not store your full card number.

When you use writing tools, we process the text, instructions, article URLs, and writing samples you provide. When you save work or learn your style, we store drafts, imported post samples, style analyses, posting language, timezone, media URLs, and publication or scheduling records. Technical logs may include request times, IP addresses, errors, and usage counts needed to operate and protect the service.

How we use your information

We process information to provide the service you request: sign you in, match your writing style, generate and validate posts, save drafts, connect accounts, manage subscriptions, and publish or schedule posts. We also process limited technical information for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

Our legal bases are performance of our agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations such as accounting. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Service providers

OpenAI processes text and writing samples for generation and style analysis. ChatGPT receives the tool results needed to answer your requests, according to the permissions you grant and your ChatGPT settings. Railway hosts the application, database, and backups. Resend delivers sign-in codes and Stripe processes subscriptions and payments.

Zernio handles social account connections, supported post-history retrieval, and delivery of posts to social networks. Netrows retrieves public LinkedIn profile posts when you request a profile import. If that import is unavailable, OpenAI web search receives the LinkedIn profile URL to discover public post links. Our server reads those LinkedIn pages and verifies authorship before using their text as writing samples. The destination social network processes any content you publish. If you ask Edgar to read an article URL, the website receives a request from our server. Langfuse supplies our style-analysis prompt configuration; this integration does not send your writing samples to Langfuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or in connection with a transfer of the business. Providers may process information outside the European Economic Area; applicable transfer safeguards are required where European data protection law applies.

Retention and deletion

Saved drafts, imported samples, style profiles, and account records are retained to provide your account and saved work. You can request access, correction, export, or deletion by contacting us. Records needed for legal obligations, payment disputes, or security may be retained where necessary. Deleted data may remain in protected backups until those backups expire under the backup retention policy.

Disconnecting Edgar in ChatGPT revokes that connection; it does not delete your Edgar account or cancel posts already scheduled with the publishing provider. Cancel outstanding schedules before disconnecting. Removing a connection also does not remove posts already published to a social network.

Cookies and account security

We use essential cookies for sign-in and OAuth. Keep access to your email account secure, and connect only social accounts you are authorized to use. You can manage your channels in Edgar and revoke ChatGPT access in ChatGPT settings.

Your rights and contact

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or object to processing. Contact privacy@edgarwrites.ai. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including Finland’s Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
